In a new Halloween special, The Simpsons will mimic the Japanese anime Death Note.
This Sunday, the most recent Treehouse of Horror episode will premiere.
In a parody of a Japanese series, the Simpson family will appear as anime-style characters in a forthcoming episode of The Simpsons. The upcoming Simpsons Halloween special Treehouse of Horror XXXIII will feature a parody of the Japanese anime series Death Note, which is based on the manga series of the same name.
The annual Treehouse of Horror episodes feature numerous short stories that spoof well-known science fiction, horror, and fantasy tales from popular culture. The first episode of the series aired in 1990. Previous episodes parodied Stephen King's The Shining, The Twilight Zone, and the 1990 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer.
A Japanese anime-style transformation of Springfield's renowned family into human forms may be seen in the trailer for the most recent episode. Lisa takes on the character of Light Yagami, a teenage genius who discovers the Death Note, a strange journal.
The book can be used to kill anyone whose name is recorded in its pages and belongs to the magical spirit Ryuk, who was portrayed in the episode by Bart. The Korean company DR cinema, which also contributed to the first two seasons of the Death Note series, animated the episode.
The show will also feature parodies of Westworld on HBO and The Babadook (2014). A special full-length Halloween episode of the venerable animated sitcom, which is presently in its 34th season, aired earlier this month.
The episode, titled Not It, is a parody of Stephen King's well-known book It in which Homer battles Krusty the Clown as the evil clown Pennywise. On Disney+, The Simpsons may be watched in the UK.
