President Jokowi with President Putin of Russia
Joko Widodo, the president of Indonesia, contacted Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, to negotiate Russia's re-entry into the Black Sea grain accord. The choice made by President Putin was also appreciated by President Jokowi. This choice is regarded as a positive step toward a better world.
"I spoke with President Putin on the phone and we talked about the Black Sea Grain Initiative. Welcome Russia's Decision to Rejoin the Initiative," stated President Jokowi on November 2, 2022, via his official account.
Previously, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Russian Defense Minister, Sergi Shoigu, had informed the Turkish Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, of his country's decision to rejoin the Black Sea grain agreement.
Erdogan stated on November 3, 2022, "After our telephone talk with Putin yesterday, beginning at noon today, grain supplies will proceed as scheduled.
According to Turkey's Ministry of National Defense, National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar was still negotiating and working with his allies to ensure that grain exports to the Black Sea would continue.
Following the attack on the Black Sea Fleet, Russia announced on Saturday, October 29, that it will no longer be taking part in the Ukrainian grain export agreement.
The agreement to restore grain exports from Ukraine's three main Black Sea ports was signed on July 22, 2022, in Istanbul by Russia, Ukraine, the United Nations, and Turkey.
For your knowledge, the Russo-Ukrainian War, which had been raging since last February, temporarily suspended exports from these ports.
